COMMAND OF FATHER OR ALLAH

When Rasulullah saw called Muslims who has capabilities of war to fight in Badar raw,an interesting dialogue occurred between Saad bin Khaitsamah and his father Khaitsamah.At that time,call of war was a common thing.For Muslims,it wasn’t extraordinary having called for war,fighting for Allah swt’s religion and for jihad Fisabilillah.
So,Khaitsamah told his son, “My child,I am getting out for war and you stay at home,guarding women and children.
“Father,for Allah’s sake,please.Don’t do that because my wish to fight them is bigger than yours.You are more important staying at home.So,please let me be the one who fight.”Khaitsamah was angry and told his son.”You denied and disobeyed what I have said.”Saad said, “Allah obliges me to go jihad and Rasulullah saw called me to go to fight while you asked something different.So,how could you see me obey you but disobey Allah swt and Rasulullah saw?”
So,Khaitsamah said, “My son,if somebody has to go,let me go first.” “For Allah’s sake,father.If it doesn’t concern about heaven,I would let you go first.”Khaitsamah couldn’t let that happened,except through a lottery between him and his son,that he thought would be fairer.The lottery showed Saad had to go to the war first.Then,he went to Badar war and died as a martyr.
After that,Khaitsamah went to the battleground.Howefer,Rasulullah saw didn’t let him.A few days letter,Rasulullah saw had to let Khaitsamah go after he came to him and cried. “Rasulullah,I want to go to Badar war.Yesterday,when I was sleeping,I dreamt of my son Saad who said, “Father,you should accompany me in heaven and I had Allah’s promise.For Allah’s sake,I miss to accompany my son in heaven.I am old and I want to see my son.”
After pocketing Rasulullah saw’s permission,Khaitsamah fought until he died as martyr and met his son in heaven.
